OUR MISSION
At the Regional Child Advocacy Center, our mission is clear and unwavering:
To serve victims of child abuse and their families in order to promote healing, and to educate the public to protect our children from abuse.
We believe that every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and valued. Our team is dedicated to creating a compassionate and child-focused environment where children who have experienced abuse can begin their journey toward healing — with dignity, support, and care.
Serving Victims and Their Families
When a child discloses abuse, it can be a moment of fear, confusion, and trauma for both the child and their family. We are here to offer:
-
A safe, welcoming space where children can share their stories through forensic interviews
-
Support and guidance for non-offending caregivers, helping them navigate the emotional and legal challenges they face
-
Advocacy, therapy referrals, and resources to promote long-term healing and resilience
Educating and Empowering the Community
Prevention is just as important as response. That’s why we are committed to educating our community about the realities of child abuse and how to prevent it. Through school programs, professional trainings, community events, and online outreach, we aim to:
-
Raise awareness of warning signs and reporting responsibilities
-
Teach children how to recognize and respond to unsafe situations
-
Equip adults with the tools to protect, advocate for, and empower the children in their lives
